With the high political determination of the Government, ministries, sectors and localities in the implementation of the Strategy, the science and technology sector has made important contributions to socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security. However, in the past period, science, technology and innovation have not yet fully achieved their potential and advantages to create outstanding development and make breakthrough contributions to national socio-economic development. The 10-year Socio-economic Development Strategy 2021-2030 sets out requirements for science, technology and innovation to become a breakthrough and decisive factor for socio-economic development to achieve the goal of becoming a developing country with a modern industry and upper middle income. On the basis of synthesizing and processing annual reports and summarizing reports of the implementation of the Strategy for the period 2011-2020 of ministries, sectors, localities, relevant agencies and organizations of Vietnam, this article highlights some outstanding results as well as limitations and causes in the implementation of the Strategy and draws some lessons learnt for the formulation and implementation of the strategy for science, technology and innovation development in the coming period. </em></p><p><strong><em>Code: </em></strong><em>20122103</em></p> ER -
