Digital performance in Vietnam from the perspective of the digital startup ecosystem
Keywords:
Startup ecosystem, Digital, Global e-Index, VietnamAbstract
The purpose of this article is to provide a comprehensive summary of Vietnam's digital startup ecosystem. A cross-country analysis focusing on Vietnam's digital performance compared to its neighbors as well as the best and worst performing countries in the world reveals that despite notable progress has been made, Vietnam still lags the rest of the world. In this research paper, we create an overall picture of Vietnam's digital startup ecosystem along with startup ecosystems in emerging Asian markets to supplement the academic literature. Based on a comprehensive review of digital ecosystems literature, we identify growth promoting drivers and ecosystem-related challenges and provide policy recommendations for Vietnam.
