Abstract

Basic research is one of the important activities of research and development. For many decades, most countries have focused on investment in applied research and have achieved immediate results. The new context shows that the limitations of imbalance in investment lead to difficulties in innovation. Innovation in investment for basic research is a big trend now to improve the efficiency and value of investment. The field of investment for basic research is very wide, in this article, we focus on the following main contents: (i) Theory of investment innovation for basic research; (ii) Investment innovation trend for basic research; (iii) Some suggestions for investment in basic research in Vietnam.
